Knoxville Medical Center understands that drug use and abuse in today's work force is a critical concern to employers.
Only laboratories certified by SAMSHA, CAP FUDT, AND CLIA are utilized for processing drug screens collected at Knoxville Medical Center.
Our trained medical assistants are all Certified Collectors, following all SAMSHA and Tennessee Drug Free Workplace collection guidelines. These technicians are also responsible for the accuracy of all paperwork involved. Appointments are not required.
Most drug screening results are available to you within 24-72 hours, depending upon the necessity for confirmation testing at the laboratory. All results are reviewed by an MRO certified physician before they are reported to you.
Rapid drug screening is an option for non-DOT and non-Tennessee Drug Free Workplace testing. Negative results can be reported within 30 - 60 minutes of collection.
Hair Follicle Screening is also available for non-regulated drug testing.
Urine collection services are provided by our clinic for employers with direct lab contracts or third party administrators.
Alcohol testing can be performed by either Evidential Breath Testing/EBT (also called Breath Alcohol Testing/BAT) or urine collection. These services are performed by certified Breath Alcohol Technicians and certified specimen collectors.
Medical Review Officer (MRO) Services, performed by an MRO Certified physician, are in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations as well as with the Tennessee Drug Free Workplace Act.

Note: Please have a photo ID ready for your drug/alcohol screening. We will need this as positive identification before the screening service can be provided.
